  • ABOUT THE ARTIST

His creativity, concept of art and own alias have been evolving through his experimental artistic process, beginning with artistic forging, moving on to video sculpture, projections and visual and sound sensations, before the final step at Objectivo Design-Maker, the workshop where García Casado –taken from his grandmothers' surnames– currently transforms objects into emotions. At the beginning of the nineties, however, his academic training led to the creation of "very formal and composition-based" bronze abstract pieces, according to the artist himself, in which a regenerative impulse (name of one of his small-scale pieces –Impulso Regenerador– ) could be observed and which transcended norms and set the DNA of a visionary artist in the new trends of the 21st century. XFlash, the name by which he went by in that era, "perfectly grasped technique". As he explains, he began to work in the Capa Foundation "collaborating on pieces by great contemporary sculptors such as Oteiza, Leiro or Venancio Blanco and on restoring artistic heritage, such as the fountains of the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso in Segovia. Consequently, progressing towards "movement, to conceptually recovering discarded materials" proves rather simple for him. Today he continues along this path boosting new life into artistic creation and designing and manufacturing parts of furniture and domestic utensils using non-conventional materials.
