  • ABOUT THE ARTIST

Like "a continuous trickle in time" is how he describes his artistic pieces. Light rainfall that has always been interrupted by teaching and research to which he has devoted most of life and with which he sacrificed, to a certain degree, himself as an artist.

His small-scale works unveil inspiration, emotion and tenderness in a subtle contrast with the bronze, a material that enables him to model feelings, supplement them, enhance them, connect them... For this purpose, he begins with a drawing (a vehicle between the mind and the piece) and emotional intelligence (that he always advises his students) and by doing so he touches on human relationships, people and love.

In nature Ángel Baltasar Criado finds abstract concepts with which he subsequently encompasses the essence of figurative art, and in terracota he discovers the inspiration that emanates from each one of his creations, with which he sustains dialogue from start to finish. Until they tell him when they want to finish. For him, each piece is a procedure, a part of the journey. He does not seek satisfaction or a specific outcome. "A bird flies, period. The same happens in art, you focus and fly".
